Music Group

Who comes to music group?

We enjoy having a mix of ages from teenagers, to students, to adults and "older" adults.

What kind of music do you play?

We play a wide range of worship music including: traditional hymns from Baptist Praise and Worship, a variety from Songs of Fellowship 1-6, and more contemporary songs by Rend Collective.

What have been some music group highlights?

We thoroughly enjoyed joining with some extra members of the congregation to practice songs from Hosanna Rock for our all-aged nativity service. We even got some dancing in!!

...another highlight was being able to bless the congregation during lockdown by recording some music videos  that were (and still are) used during services.

Living for God
What happens at a normal meeting?

We usually have a time of prayer, committing the evening to God and helping to focus our minds. We will then start looking through the order of service for Sunday. We regularly try to learn a new song that we will work on over the course of multiple weeks before teaching it to the congregation.  A well-earned tea break is always fitted in too.

Practise
Is there anything else you would like to share about music group?

We are always welcoming new members, we have had a range of instruments including a recorder, saxophone, trumpet, flute, drumkit, piano and guitars.  On some special occasions we have even featured the cucumber and pepper shakers!!
Do just come along if you enjoy lifting your voice in praise and joining in our fellowship.
