Music Group
Monday: 19:30 - 21:00(ish) & Some Saturdays for Family Music
Who comes to music group?
We enjoy having a mix of ages from teenagers, to students, to adults and "older" adults. Do just come along if you enjoy lifting your voice in praise and joining in our fellowship.
Family Music Group
On odd Saturdays the music group meet to enjoy making music together. All ages are welcome to learn a bit more. Primary School age children need to be accompanied by an adult. No cost. Please come and have fun.
What happens at a normal meeting?
We usually have a time of prayer, committing the evening to God and helping to focus our minds. We will then start looking through the order of service for Sunday. We regularly try to learn a new song that we will work on over the course of multiple weeks before teaching it to the congregation.
What have been some of the highlights?
We thoroughly enjoyed joining with some extra members of the congregation to practice songs from Hosanna Rock for our all-aged nativity service. We even got some dancing in!!
What other things do you get up to?
Once a month some of us, together with other members of the fellowship, visit Cottingham Hall Care Home and bless them with sung worship and friendship.
We also join up with Boulevard Baptist Church for joint evenings of praise and worship a few times each year.
Is there anything else you think people should know?
We are always welcoming new members, we have had a range of instruments including a recorder, saxophone, trumpet, flute, drumkit, piano and guitars. On some special occasions we have even featured the cucumber and pepper shakers!!
